Encourage your children to change clothes themselves

Training your child to change clothes herself is an important part in cultivating her daily skills.

When your child reaches 24 months old,you can encourage her to change clothes on her own. Based on the design of each clothes, you should teach, hand on hand, your child a way to take off and put on that type of clothes. You also should teach her how to identify the front, back, interior, exterior of a clothes.

At the beginning, your child may not be able to do it right, sometimes, she wear the clothes inside out; sometimes, her two legs will all go into one pant leg. Sometimes, because of wrong action taken, she may tear the clothes. When these occur, you should encourage her to continue to try. Avoid scolding even when she accidentally tear the clothes.

To motivate her to learn changing clothes, you can let her choose the clothes that she like. To avoid her wearing the clothes inside out or wearing the clothes on backwards, you can help to pick those clothes that have different pattern for back side and front side of the clothes.

Encourage your child to keep on practicing and gradually she will change the clothes on her own.
