 Pomegranate is good for fertility in men and women and can increase chance of conception.

In some parts of China, pomegranate is seen as a symbol of fertility. In some drawings, one pomegranate is seen to represent one baby.

Research has actually shown that eating pomegranate can help to improve fertility in both men and women.

Pomegranate is rich in zinc as compared to other fruits. Zinc has been shown to increase sperm count and sperm quality – both are important for successful conception.

 

Zinc is also known to help to boost immune system of the body, this can further increase chance of conception.

Pomegranate is a rich source of vitamin C which helps to boost immune system of the couples. Vitamin C is powerful antioxidant which can help to prevent attack by free radicals which are chemicals that can damage cells.

Vitamin C also aids in the absorption of iron and calcium. Having sufficient iron in the diet can help to increase blood flow to the uterus, promoting uterine lining and therefore increase chance of conception of women. Furthermore, pomegranate itself also contains iron.

 

Rich source of vitamin E

Pomegranate is also rich in vitamin E which is another antioxidant. It not only prevents body from attack by free radicals, but also reduce cholesterol and the risk of developing cancer.

 

Folic acid for preventing birth defect
Pomegranate is also a good source of folic acid. Folic acid is an important vitamin for couples who are trying to conceive. This vitamin can help to prevent birth defects in the newborns.

 

Potassium for regulating blood pressure

Potassium is beneficial to the heart. It reduces the tension in the blood vessel and is therefore able to regulate blood pressure. It is able to prevent heart-related diseases.

 

Vitamin K for bone and heart

Vitamin K in pomegranate is very beneficial for the heart and the bone. It is important for maintaining the health of the bone and heart.

 

It should be noted that pomegranate might interfere with some specific medicines. If you are taking medicine, you should consult your doctor for advice.
