Health benefits of avocado for couples who are trying to conceive

Avocado is good for fertility in both men and women and can increase chance of ceonception.

In one study conducted in the United States, women who were on a diet high in avocado had shown 3.4 times more likely to get pregnant through IVF (In vitro fertilization).

In fact, avocado not only helps couple to get pregnant through IVF, it also increases chance of conception for couples who are trying to conceive naturally.

A good source of folate

Folate, or usually called folic acid, can be found in avocado. This vitamin helps to prevent birth defects in the newborns like spina bifida and is a must-have for women who are trying to get pregnant.

Zinc and avocado

Avocado is a good source of zinc. Zinc is found in large amounts in semen which can help to protect the sperm. Having sufficient zinc will help to increase sperm count and sperm motility – both are important for successful conception.

Rich source of vitamin E

Vitamin E in avocado increases fertility by helping the transportation of the egg and the fertilized embryo. Without smooth transportation of the egg and embryo, conception will not take place.

Rich in vitamin C and antioxidants

Avocado helps couple who are trying to conceive by boosting their immune systems. Vitamin C and other antioxidants present in avocado can help to protect couple from attack by free radicals and pollutants. This helps to improve the general health of the body and make it easy for women to get pregnant faster.

High potassium content

Potassium is very beneficial for the heart as it regulates the blood pressure. This can help to prevent heart-related diseases. High blood pressure can cause many pregnancy complications. Having sufficient potassium can help to prevent high blood pressure.

Other minerals and vitamins

Avocado is really a superfood as it is packed with vitamins and minerals. Other than the vitamins and minerals mentioned above, it is also rich in vitamin K, vitamin B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and small amounts of magnesium, manganese, copper, iron and phosphorus.
