Fundamental causes of female infertility 2

Fundamental cause of infertility in women

1. Blockage in fallopian tube (Tubal infertility). This is one of the most common causes of female infertility. It accounts for about one third of the patients that suffer from infertility. If the fallopian tube has blockage or damaged, the egg and sperm cannot pass through.

2. Ovulation disorder. It accounts for about 20% to 25% of the female infertility. Abnormal hormone secretion, premature ovarian failure and luteal phase defect cause infrequent egg production or no egg production or damage on the egg produced.

3. Cervical narrowing or blockage. Some women have narrow cervical canal which prevents the sperm from reaching the uterus. Cervicitis, one of the common infections, may result in secretion of mucus that is sticky and can prevent the passage of the sperm.
