Fertility and Vitamins

 Vitamin can help to increase fertility and chance of conception

1. Vitamin B12 and Fertility

2. Vitamin C and Fertility

Some studies have shown that women that have sufficient vitamins in their bodies are twice likely to get pregnant as compared to those women that do not take sufficient vitamins daily.

Couples, therefore should consider having vitamin supplement if they want to have baby.

Here are some of the vitamins or minerals that are important to fertility:

Vitamin B12 and Fertility

For men, deficiency of this vitamin can lead to reduced sperm counts and motility.

For women, deficiency of this vitamin has been found to be related to recurrent miscarriage. It also interfere with normal cell division and ovulation. It also affect how the fertilized egg is implanted in the lining of the uterus.

Vitamin C and Fertility

Vitamin C is an antioxidant that can help to maintain the quality of semen and sperm. Lack of this antioxidant is found to cause the sperms to clump together which decreases their motility.

Vitamin D and Fertility

Vitamin D helps to balance the hormone level in women which can improve the likelihood of successful conception. In addition, vitamin D is essential to the development of the nucleus of the sperm. It also help to maintain semen quality and sperm count. All these are important for successful conception.

Folic acid and Fertility

Women should start taking folic acid even before getting pregnant. Folic acid not only helps to improve fertility in women, it also helps to prevent birth defect. Folic acid is important to men by improving the quality and number of sperms in men.

Zinc and Fertility

For women, zinc helps to improve fertility by helping egg production. It improves fertility in men by maintaining production of the testosterone in men and improving the sperm count and motility.

Suggestion:

If you are trying to conceive, it is suggested that you take those multi-vitamins products that are commercially available in pharmacies and personal stores. It may help to increase your chance of conception.
