Pregnancy Week 12: Development of the Embryo and Change to Mother
Development of the Fetus
1. The fetus is about 6.5cm long and weighs 14g.
2. Skeleton of the cartilage tissue will appear. Liver begins to produce blood cells and secretes bile.
3. Lung has fully formed.
4. Fingers are separated from one another. Same goes to the toes.
Chang to the expectant mother
1. The expectant mother may find melasma on her face. This is not a cause for concern as it usually will disappear after pregnancy.
2. Enlargement of the breast will continue.
