Kiwi fruit is a rich source of folic acid

First and foremost, kiwi fruit is very rich in folic acid. Folic acid is important in proper neural development of the babies. With sufficient folic acid, birth defects like spina bifida in the newborns can be reduced greatly.

In fact, many gynaecologists around the world will recommend women to increase daily intake of folic acid during pregnancy.

 

Vitamin C is good for pregnant women

Kiwi is rich in vitamin C. One kiwi fruit can satisfy your daily requirement of vitamin C. Vitamin C can help to reduce stress. During pregnancy, hormonal fluctuation can occur very often. This often leads to stress, depression, tiredness. Having sufficient vitamin C can help to keep these problems at bay.

Kiwi fruit is a rich source of antioxidants. These antioxidants can help protect fetus’s RNA and DNA from damage by free radicals which are chemical compound that can damage cells. These antioxidants also protects the cells from oxidative stress.

Kiwi is relative abundant in dietary fiber. Dietary fiber can help in bowel movement which in turn can prevent constipation during pregnancy.

Other than dietary fiber, kiwi also contain enzyme that can help the digestive system of the pregnant women.

 

Prevent anemia

Kiwi also have iron content. Iron can help in formation of red blood cell. This can aid in prevention of anemia.

 

In conclusion, kiwi fruit is very good for men and women who are trying for a baby.
